Kapsara is unique in that it is the smallest factory with one line in the entire KTDA-managed factories. The factory was the first one to be automated in all KTDA factories. Kapsara Tea Factory is a newly constructed tea factory under the management of the Kenya Tea Development Agency. The catchment area is estimated to be 464 hectares with approximately 4.5m tea bushes with an average production of 0.82 kilograms per bush. The factory lies on a 20-acre piece of land.

Our company profile
WHEN
Construction of the factory commenced on September 2002 and it was commissioned on 11th May, 2004 before being officially opened by H.E the President Hon Mwai Kibaki on April 16th 2005.
WHERE
The factory is situated in North Rift, Trans- Nzoia East District, Kaplamai Division, Makutano Location, Kapsara sub- Location in Cherangani constituency. It covers Trans- Nzoia East, Trans Nzoia West, Marakwet, Mt. Elgon and West Pokot Districts. It is 420 KM North West of Nairobi at an altitude of 2,200m above sea level.
It is located on the windward slopes of the Cherangani hills, off the main Kitale – Lodwar road.
